Max is a black Labrador retriever born on December 9, 1998. He is certified by both Rhode Island and the International Police Work Dog Association for Wilderness and Cadaver searches. Max has also certified with FEMA, as a Type II search dog.
Max has passed the CGC test and the International Therapy Dog test and was a therapy for dog for 2 years.
Max especially likes the helicopter rides with the Rhode Island National Guard.
Max and I were deployed to Mississippi to help locate missing persons for three weeks after Hurricane Katrina hit the towns of Waveland and Bay St. Louis with a wall of water over 30 feet high. Max has also participated in many Wilderness and Cadaver searches in Rhode Island.
